Global Group Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026
Last updated: October 2026
1 Who we are and what this policy covers
The Global Group respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information through www.teamglobalgroup.com, our enquiries, consultations, communications and related services. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual, including information reasonably capable of being linked to that individual, as defined by applicable law.
The organizations responsible for information covered by this policy are The Global Group and Global International Business Brokers Inc., together referred to as "Global Group," "we," "us" or "our." Contact details for our Privacy Officer appear below. A shared brand does not mean every division, affiliate or professional partner has access to all information.
This policy covers visitors, prospective and existing clients, business owners, buyers, investors, referral contacts and other individuals interacting with us. Separate notices may apply to employment, recruitment, immigration, mortgage, lending or other regulated services. Where another notice applies, it will identify the responsible organization and explain any service-specific practices. Independent partners are responsible for their own processing.
2 Personal information we collect
Depending on your interaction and the service requested, information we collect may include the following:
Contact and identity information: your name, email, telephone number, mailing address, company, job title and, where necessary for a service or legal obligation, identity-verification information.
Business and transaction information: ownership interests, business-sale or acquisition criteria, enquiries, valuations, deal preferences, correspondence, agreements and due diligence materials. Business records may contain personal information about owners, employees, customers or other individuals.
Financial and professional information: proof of funds, financing needs, investment interests, transaction history, experience and qualifications, and financial records you provide for an authorized service. We request sensitive documents only when reasonably necessary.
Website and communications information: IP address, browser and device details, approximate location inferred from IP address, pages viewed, referral sources, timestamps, communications and your recorded preferences. Cookies and similar tools are explained in section 6.
Sensitive information: certain identity, financial, immigration or other service records may be sensitive under applicable law. We identify the need for such information at collection and obtain additional consent where required. Do not send government identifiers, account credentials, health information or other sensitive records through general enquiry forms or ordinary email; request an appropriate secure submission method.
3 Where information comes from
We receive information from you through forms, email, telephone, meetings, document submissions, subscriptions and service engagements. We may also receive relevant information from people you authorize, advisers, transaction counterparties, referral partners, public business records and service providers. Website technologies may collect technical information automatically. If you provide another person's information, ensure that you have authority to do so and that any required notice or consent has been provided.
4 How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; arrange consultations; deliver requested resources and services; assess business-sale, acquisition, valuation, investment and financing opportunities; match relevant opportunities; coordinate authorized introductions and transactions; administer contracts and payments; maintain records; improve website functionality and services; prevent fraud and protect systems; address disputes; and meet legal or regulatory obligations.
We use information for newsletters, events, listings and promotional communications only where permitted by law and consistent with your choices. We identify collection purposes when required and obtain additional consent before a new use where required. We limit collection and use to information reasonably necessary and appropriate for the stated purposes.
5 Consent and your choices
Where consent is required, we seek consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the circumstances. This may include express consent for sensitive information, optional marketing or other processing that requires it. Consent is not required for every activity; applicable law may authorize or require certain collection, use or disclosure without consent.
You may decline optional requests or withdraw consent by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will explain any effect on our ability to provide a requested service. We do not make optional marketing consent a condition of receiving unrelated services. Visiting the website or accepting general terms does not itself provide consent for processing that requires a separate choice.
6 Cookies analytics and advertising
Our website may use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, usage measurement and, if enabled, advertising. Embedded forms, scheduling, marketplace and other features may involve additional providers. Provider involvement does not itself establish that every optional tracking feature is enabled.
You can manage cookies through available website controls and your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may affect functionality. Where applicable law requires prior consent, optional tracking will be subject to that consent. Clearing cookies or changing devices may require setting preferences again.
7 When we disclose personal information
We disclose information as reasonably necessary and permitted for the purposes described in this policy, including to the following recipient categories:
Personnel and relevant divisions: authorized staff and representatives who need information to perform their responsibilities, and relevant affiliated entities where their involvement has been explained and is lawful.
Service providers: website hosting, cloud storage, email, customer relationship management, forms, scheduling, analytics, security, document-management and professional-support providers acting under appropriate arrangements.
Transaction participants and professional partners: prospective buyers, sellers, investors, lenders, brokers, valuators, accountants, lawyers and other advisers, where disclosure is authorized or otherwise lawful and appropriate to the transaction. These parties may independently control information they receive.
Authorities and legal recipients: regulators, courts, law enforcement and other parties where disclosure is required or legally permitted, including to meet obligations, investigate fraud, protect legal rights or address a serious safety concern.
Corporate transaction recipients: parties evaluating or completing a lawful merger, reorganization, sale or transfer involving our business, subject to applicable restrictions and confidentiality protections. If required, we provide notice or obtain consent.
We do not publish personal information or identify a confidential business-sale client in marketing merely because that person submits an enquiry. Deal documents are shared through an agreed disclosure process, with confidentiality and access controls where appropriate. An NDA does not replace privacy obligations or eliminate disclosure risks.
8 Sale sharing and targeted advertising
Privacy laws may define "sale" to include disclosure for valuable consideration other than money. California "sharing" includes disclosure for cross-context behavioural advertising. Advertising technology and certain referrals must be assessed against these definitions.
Where applicable law provides an opt-out, you may exercise it using the method specified above or contact us. A separate, readily accessible website opt-out control will be provided where required. We do not require a verified identity request for an opt-out where law prohibits that requirement.
9 Processing in Canada the United States and other countries
Information may be accessed, stored or processed in Canada, the United States and other countries where our authorized providers or transaction participants operate. Information in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and lawful access by its courts, regulators or government authorities.
We remain accountable as required by applicable law for information transferred to providers acting on our behalf, and use appropriate contractual and other safeguards. Where required, we assess transfers, including privacy impacts, before transferring information outside a jurisdiction. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about relevant foreign processing arrangements and safeguards.
10 Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or for another lawful purpose. Retention depends on the service, relationship, record type, legal and regulatory requirements, transaction and professional-record obligations, limitation periods and unresolved claims. Consent and suppression records may be retained to honor your choices. We securely delete, destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention and backup cycles.
11 Security and incidents
We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and risks of the information. Access is limited to authorized persons with a legitimate need. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. If an incident occurs, we assess it, take appropriate protective steps and notify affected people, regulators or other parties when required by applicable law.
12 Marketing communications
You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link provided or contact us to update your preferences. We process unsubscribe requests within applicable legal deadlines. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary service, transaction, security or legal communications. Marketing texts or calls, if offered, are subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements; any program-specific terms will be provided separately.
13 Canadian privacy rights
Depending on the applicable law, you may request access to your personal information and information about its use and disclosure, correction of inaccuracies, withdrawal of consent, and review of our privacy practices. Certain provincial laws may also provide rights concerning computerized information portability, automated decisions, or the dissemination, de-indexing or re-indexing of personal information, subject to their conditions. Deletion is not an unlimited right and may be subject to retention obligations and other exceptions.
We address Canadian requests under the law that applies, which may include PIPEDA, British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, or Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. These laws do not necessarily apply simultaneously to every activity. You may complain to our Privacy Officer and to the appropriate federal or provincial privacy regulator.
14 United States privacy rights
Depending on your state, our activities and statutory applicability requirements, you may have rights to confirm processing; access personal information; obtain a portable copy; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; opt out of sale, targeted advertising or certain profiling; and exercise rights relating to sensitive information. Certain laws also provide rights to information about recipients or disclosures. We will not unlawfully discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising applicable rights.
California residents: where the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, applies, rights may include knowing categories and specific pieces of information collected, sources, purposes and recipient categories; deletion; correction; opt-out of sale or sharing; limitation of certain sensitive-information uses; and non-discrimination. Business-contact information is not automatically excluded. This policy and any required notice at collection explain the relevant practices.
Where applicable, California residents may also request information about certain disclosures for third parties' direct marketing under California Civil Code section 1798.83. If a state law gives you an appeal right and we decline a request, send "Privacy Appeal" to our Privacy Officer. We explain our decision, respond within the applicable deadline and provide information about further complaint options where required.
15 How to make a request
Contact the Privacy Officer by email, telephone or mail using section 20. Describe your request, provide a way to contact you and identify your jurisdiction if helpful. Do not include sensitive identification documents in the initial message. You may ask for this policy in an accessible alternative format.
We may take reasonable, proportionate steps to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority, as permitted by law. We use verification information for that purpose. We do not require you to create an account to submit a request. We respond within the deadlines required by applicable law and explain permitted extensions or any refusal. Requests are handled without charge except where a lawful fee is permitted and explained in advance.
16 Children and service specific information
The website is intended for adults seeking business-related services and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the general website, contact us so we can assess and address it. Where a separately authorized service lawfully requires information about a minor, we apply the relevant notice, consent and safeguarding requirements. Do not submit children's information through general enquiries.
17 Third party services and automated decisions
Links, embedded tools and introductions may lead to independent websites or services. Their policies govern their independent practices. Review the relevant notice before providing information. We identify our own role where information is collected on our behalf.
18 Additional notices
Where a service involves information covered by special financial, credit-reporting, consumer-health, immigration, employment or other laws, additional notices and procedures may apply. This policy does not replace a legally required service-specific privacy notice, authorization or consent. Your engagement documents identify the provider responsible for regulated services.
19 Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change and revise the date above. We provide additional notice and obtain renewed consent for material changes where required. We do not treat a policy update alone as consent to a new use that requires your consent.
